New JISC website launched

The new JISC website has launched with a new customisation feature. This feature is the result of the work we have been doing here with the Audience Experts panel, which investigated the idea of tailoring the JISC website to our identified key audiences - Librarians, e-Learning Technologists and IT Professionals.

The customisation feature allows you to customise your JISC homepage by choosing the types of content you’re interested in (i.e. news, events, funding) and to narrow the information you receive to specific topics you’re interested in. This is based on the iGoogle / BBC style filter concept.

The beauty is, rather than narrowing it down to specific audiences, everyone is able to tailor their JISC homepage to their individual interests.

Thanks very much to all those that took part in the Audience Experts Panel, the online surveys and the protoype testing. Hopefully this is a feature that will prove useful and popular.
